Celebrating Baylor Math Graduate Students

The Baylor Math Department recently celebrated Grad Student Appreciation Week 2026, taking time to recognize the dedication and many contributions of its graduate students.

The graduate lounge served as the hub for the week's activities, with snacks, refreshments, and a few small giveaways stocked throughout the week. The atmosphere was informal by design — a chance for students to step away from their work for a few minutes, catch up with one another, and feel appreciated in the middle of a demanding semester.

Graduate students are central to many aspects of the department does. They teach undergraduates, advance the research program, and help give the department its character as a place of inquiry and collegiality. A week set aside to recognize that contribution is a small gesture, but it is one the department is glad to make.
