SIAM Conference Texas-Louisiana Section
7th Annual Meeting
October 11-13, 2024, Hosted by Baylor University
The SIAM Texas-Louisiana Section and the Department of Mathematics at Baylor University will be hosting the 7th Annual Meeting of the SIAM TX-LA Section from October 11th to October 13th, 2024.
Conference Program:
Conference registration and plenary talks will be held in the Marrs McLean Science Building on the Baylor Campus. Mini-symposia will meet in classrooms in Marrs McLean and the Sid Richardson Building.

Call for Mini-symposium Proposals:
We are accepting proposals for mini-symposia. The deadline for proposal submission is 11:59 PM CST, (August 1) August 14, 2024. Click here to submit a mini-symposium proposal.
Mini-symposia will consist of up to 3 sessions. Each session will consist of 4 talks of 25 minutes.
Call for Poster Submissions:
The poster session will be on the evening of Saturday, October 12. We are now accepting proposals for posters. The deadline for proposal submission is 11:59 PM CST, (August 24) September 7, 2024. Submit posters here.
Registration:
Registration is now open through SIAM’s Web site. The deadline for early bird registration is September 14.
Travel Awards:
We anticipate having funding available to provide partial financial support for students (undergraduate and graduate) to attend SIAM TX-LA 2024. To be eligible for these awards, students must reside in or be attending an institution of higher education in Texas or Louisiana. Please submit an application by (August 14) August 24, 2024 to be considered for support.
Venue:
The Department of Mathematics is located on the third floor of the Sid Richardson Science Building (Paul L. Foster Success Center).
The conference will be held on the Baylor campus, in the Marrs McLean Science Building and the Sid Richardson Building.

Baylor University lies in Waco, Texas on Interstate I-35 between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin, Texas.
Lodging:
Courtesy room blocks have been created at the following hotels. Due to another large event in Waco on this same weekend hotel prices will be a little higher. You will also want to book as soon as possible.

Practical information:
Wi-Fi connection: By all means plan on using eduroam if you have it. If you don't have it, get it now if your institution is a member.
Audio/Visual: All meeting rooms are equipped with overhead projectors and HDMI ports.
Parking: If you plan to park a car on campus during the conference, please find helpful information here. Please also register for a Visitor Parking Permit.
The visiting parking slots comprise the first 3 rows starting from the left when facing the main entrance of Sid Richardson, the mathematics building (between 3rd and 4th street); the curb is marked in green. (Faculty and Staff parking slots are to the right of the visitor slots and the curb is marked in yellow.)
