Prerequisites for MTH 1320 Precalculus and MTH 1321 Calculus I

Beginning Summer 2027, MTH prerequisites will be as follows:

MTH 1320 – Precalculus

No prerequisite.

MTH 1321 – Calculus I

You must meet at least one of the following:

• AP Precalculus score of 4 or 5 
• SAT Math score of 650 or higher 
• ACT Math score of 27 or higher 
• CLEP Precalculus score of 60 or higher 
• Grade of B- or better in MTH 1320, either at Baylor or through transfer credit 

Important: Official AP, SAT, ACT, and CLEP scores must be sent to Baylor and posted to your Baylor student record before they can be used to satisfy the prerequisite. Screenshots and other student-submitted score documentation cannot be accepted. Please allow sufficient time to take the exam, have your official scores sent to Baylor, and for Baylor to process those scores before you plan to register for MTH 1321.

Current Baylor students: Students who were enrolled at Baylor in Spring 2027 or earlier and earned a qualifying ALEKS score of 80 or higher by February 15, 2027, may continue to use that score to satisfy the prerequisite for MTH 1321. All other students must meet one of the requirements listed above.
