BLAST 2026 Conference Brings Global Scholars to Baylor University

May 21, 2026

Waco, Texas — June 2026 — Baylor University hosted the 16th installment of the BLAST conference series from May 18 to May 21, 2026, welcoming more than 60 mathematicians from across the globe for a four-day exchange of cutting-edge research and collaboration.

BLAST, an acronym representing its core focus areas—Boolean Algebras; Lattices, Algebraic Logic and Quantum Logic; Model Theoretic and General Algebra; Set Theory; and Set-theoretic and Point-free Topology—marked its first appearance at Baylor University, highlighting the institution’s growing presence in advanced mathematical research.

The event featured a robust academic program, including nine invited speakers, three in-depth tutorials, and more than 30 contributed talks. Participants explored recent developments, shared new findings, and fostered collaborations across international and disciplinary boundaries.

The conference was made possible through support from the National Science Foundation, along with contributions from Baylor University’s Department of Mathematics and the Weidenweber Mathematics Fund.
