Jim and Lisa Meyerhoff Establish Math Scholarship in Honor of Dr. Lance Littlejohn
On November 13, the Baylor Mathematics Department hosted a reception to award the first Lance Littlejohn Scholarship for Graduate Research in Mathematics. The scholarship has been generously endowed by Jim and Lisa Meyerhoff to honor Dr. Lance Littlejohn for his remarkable service as the Chair of the Mathematics Department. Awarded to graduate students who demonstrate significant promise in mathematics research, the Lance Littlejohn Scholarship is considered an honor that must be earned through exceptional academic and research achievements.
The first recipient, Pedro Takemura, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am deeply honored to be the first recipient of the Lance Littlejohn Scholarship for Graduate Research in Mathematics. Receiving this scholarship not only affirms the value of my research but also inspires me to work even harder towards my academic goals. I am extremely grateful for Jim and Lisa Meyerhoff for endowing this scholarship and making this opportunity possible. I am thankful for Professors Dorina Mitrea and Lance Littlejohn for their support and invaluable contributions to the Math Department here at Baylor. Finally, I am especially thankful to my advisor Professor Marius Mitrea whose guidance and expertise have been crucial to my personal and academic growth."
