This Fall we are happy to welcome back Dr. Tracy Weyand to the department on sabbatical from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.  Tracy is from Florida and earned her Ph.D. at Texas A&M.  She knows the department well as she was a postdoc at Baylor and helped found our local chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM).  Recently, she was a 2023 recipient of the AWM service awards for her commitment to building communities in which women in mathematics can thrive and feel welcome.

Dr. Weyand's research is in mathematical physics, in particular quantum networks and quantum chaos.  She will be working on projects with Dr. Harrison understanding connections between the Ihara and spectral zeta functions of networks.
