Math Department Welcomes New Faculty and Staff Members
Joining the math faculty are Lecturer Dr. Mariah Barnes-Gonzalez, Postdoctoral Associate Dr. Will Erickson, Assistant Professor Dr. Christoph Fischbacher, Lecturer Dr. Ian Grigsby, Undergraduate and Graduate Program Coordinator Ms. Julie Posey and Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow Dr. Mads Reynolds.
Mariah Barnes-Gonzalez
Dr. Mariah Barnes-Gonzalez came to Waco from the University of Denver, where she received a Ph.D. in Mathematics with research in Non-associative Algebra, specifically working with loops and quasigroups.
Will Erickson
Dr. Will Erickson taught high-school and middle-school mathematics and Latin for eight years, before pursuing his doctorate at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Christoph Fischbacher

Dr. Christoph Fischbacher received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Kent, United Kingdom. He enjoys teaching math classes closely related to physics.
Ian Grigsby

Dr. Ian Grigsby comes to us from Omaha, Nebraska but received his Ph.D. from Baylor in August 2021.
Julie Posey

Ms. Julie Posey received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and comes from a different side of the education world from Education Service Center Region 12 here in Waco.
Mads Reynolds

Dr. Mads Reynolds joined Baylor University right after receiving his Ph.D. degree from Baylor this past summer.
