Baylor Analysis Fest

Lance Littlejohn

"From Operator Theory to Orthogonal Polynomials, Combinatorics, and Number Theory"

May 23 - 27, 2022

This was a hybrid meeting.

The conference was organized around topics of Analysis such as Operator and Spectral Theory, Special Functions, and Orthogonal Polynomials, and their connections with Combinatorics, Probability Theory, and Number Theory.

We also celebrated Lance L. Littlejohn’s accomplishments in mathematics and in building the mathematics department at Baylor University for well over a decade now.

Plenary Speakers:

  • George E. Andrews (Pennsylvania State University)
  • David Damanik (Rice University)
  • Lance L. Littlejohn (Baylor University)
  • Ken Ono (University of Virginia)
  • Barry Simon (California Institute of Technology).

A Birkhauser Volume in Honor of Lance Littlejohn's 70th Birthday was published in 2021:

From Operator Theory to Orthogonal Polynomials, Combinatorics, and Number Theory

Venue:

The Department of Mathematics is located on the third floor of the Sid Richardson Science Building (Paul L. Foster Success Center). On the Campus Map, the Sid Richardson Science Building is the horseshoe-shaped building just to the left of Waco Creek in the heart of the campus. See the map link below that identifies the Sid Richardson Building.

All talks took place in Sid Richardson Science Building, Room 344. Coffee breaks and lunches (catering) were also taking place in Sid Richardson, Room 340, see the map below:

Baylor University lies in Waco, Texas on Interstate I-35 between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin, Texas.

Practical information:

Financial Support: Limited financial funds are available to cover the local expenses of the participants without external support. Junior researchers, graduate students and members from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply for financial support.

Wi-Fi connection: By all means plan on using eduroam if you have it. If you don't have it, get it now if your institution is a member. Other possibilities exist but are far inferior and cumbersome to organize.

Parking: If you plan to park a car on campus during the conference, please use this link (and continue on the next page by clicking on "Click Here to Register for a Visitor Permit" and later, "Are you a visitor?") to register as a visitor.

Visitor Car Permit

The visiting parking slots comprise the first 3 rows starting from the left when confronting the main entrance of Sid Richardson, the mathematics building (between 3rd and 4th street); they are marked in green. (Faculty and Staff parking slots are to the right of the visitor slots and marked in yellow.)

Sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and Department of Mathematics of Baylor University, the Simons Foundation, and the National Science Foundation.
